Employment and Professional CAREER
Dr Albeirutty joined the Thermal Engineering and Desalination Technology at King Abdulaziz University in 1987 and was appointed as Department Head in 1996-2000. He was the co-founder of the Center of Excellence in Desalination Technology (CEDT) at KAU and was appointed as the Director of CEDT in 2008. During his academic careers he has participated in several funded research projects as principle investigator or co-investigator in different fields including:
- Turbulent flow measurements,
- Enhancement of gas turbine performance by waste heat recovery,
- Estimation and measurement of electric consumption due to air conditioning in buildings,
- Effect of outdoor temperature and shading on the performance of air conditioning units,
- Direct contact heat transfer for desalination technology,
- Design, manufacture, and simulation of an Experimental MSF Desalination Unit,
- Desalinaton by a Solar Energy Assisted Membrane Distillation.
- A novel fully integrated modelling-computational-experimental approach for the design and testing of spacers for membrane separation modules
He is member in International Desalination Association (IDA) and Associate Editor for the the Journal of Desalination. He has several publications in international refereed journals in the field of energy and desalination and participated in several workshops and conferences related to desalination.
