Purpose of Instrument
  • Microscope is an instrument used to see objects that are too small for the naked eye.
  • There are many types of microscopes :-
    1. Optical microscope, which is the most common microscope and uses light to image the sample.
    2. Fluorescence microscopy.
    3. Electron microscope both :
      • The transmission electron microscope (TEM).
      • The scanning electron microscope (SEM).
    4. Scanning probe microscopes.
  • There are 3-4 objective lenses on a microscope. They usually consist of 4X, 10X, 40X and 100X powers. When coupled with a 10X eyepiece lens.
